Russian consumers owe over 120 bln roubles to Gazprom

The monopoly won’t be able to deal with the Russian debtors

The announced a year earlier by the Prime Minister D. Medvedev strict measures towards the non-payers for gas have no results as yet: for that time the overdue debt of the Russian gas consumers rose 20% - to 120 bln roubles, and for almost 3 years – by more than twice. The promoted by Gazprom initiatives on the rise of payment collection for gas have no result. The company hasn’t managed to have either the advance scheme of payment or rise of responsibility for non-payment.

Crisis of non-payments: October 2013

“It is a problem that a 50% growth – not a 5% - has taken place within the last year. We didn’t have such a growth in 2009, at the peak of the crisis”, the Prime Minister D. Medvedev said on October 29th 2013 at the meeting dedicated to the rise of payment by gas consumers.
