Sanctions against the Russian shelf?

The USA and its Western partners are ready to impose new economic sanctions against Russia, this time in relation to the energy sector and the export of technologies, the agency Bloomberg reported, referred to its sources in the administration of U.S. President. Industry sanctions are considered, and the list of individuals may be expanded, two U.S. officials confirmed without naming the terms of their introduction. Much will depend on steps of the Russian President on the crisis in the Ukraine, they noted.

It seems that harsh that comprehensive sanctions against Russia on the Iranian scenario haven’t yet been considered, William Pomerantz of the Kennan Institute is optimistic, it is a question of pointed measures against some of large Russian banks, energy and defense sectors: "Of course, limitations on transfer of technologies to Russia will be among them". The USA can oblige energy companies to receive licenses for the export of technologies and equipment to Russia on the whole or just certain companies, U.S. officials, who are familiar with the mechanism of sanctions, admitted in a conversation with the Vedomosti. Sanctions usually mean the recommendation not to work with companies or sectors that are in the list, former deputy secretary of state, president of Freedom House, David Kramer noted.
