In the first 11 months, ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog reduced its production of rolled metal

In January-November 2014, ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog (Dnepropetrovsk region) reduced the production of steel by 1.3% as compared to the same period of 2013 to 5.094 million tons, the Interfax-Ukraine writes.

ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog has started reverse gas imports

The Ukrainian largest metallurgic enterprise ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog has started reverse gas imports from Europe omitting Naftogaz, following the example of Odessa Priportovy plant. Since October, the metallurgic combine imports gas via Slovakia. Its daily consumption is 2 million cubic m of gas. The seller is the affiliated company ArcelorMittal Energy.
Gas price is $360 per 1,000 cubic m, a source in the Ministry of Energy and Coal resources claims. Concerning taxes and transporting expenses, the final price is $480.

Arcelor Mittal Krivoy Rog increased steel production by 11.3%

Arcelor Mittal Krivoy Rog PJSC in September 2014 increased steel production by 11.3% against September 2013 to 594.2 thousand tons, the company’s press service reports.
In September 2014 Arcelor Mittal Krivoy Rog increased cast iron production by 11.6%  to 524.5 thousand tons, rolled products – by 7.5% to 511.9 thousand tons.

ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog promises to invest $70 million into the construction of pulverized coal fuel unit

The Krivoy Rog mining and metallurgical combine ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog (the Dnepropetrovsk region) will invest more than $70 million into the construction of a complex for the preparation and pulverized coal injection in the blast furnace №9 (the largest in Europe) that will allow it to eliminate the use of natural gas in the production of cast iron and to reduce the consumption of coke, Interfax-Ukraina writes.
As the press release of the company reports, the project provides for the construction of coal handling, storage and transportation system.
It is noted that it is planned to launch two mills with a total capacity of 83 tons of coal dust per hour for grinding of raw materials to the required fractions, and to install filters for the separation of air from dust. Dust-fuel from special bins will be distributed to the tuyeres of the blast furnace, through nozzles of which it will be directly injected into the furnace.

ArcelorMittal Temirtau is about to increase steel production up to 6 mln tons by 2017

The smelting company “ArcelorMittal Temirtau” maps out to keep updating of the production capacities. The construction of gas cleaning of a converter No3 and reconstruction of a blast furnace No4 is in plans for 2015, Kazinform reports.
The recent projects of the plant is the construction of new blast furnaces, continuous casting machine and section rolling mill. There kept operation on a blast furnace No3 and gas cleaning of a converter No2.

In June of 2014, ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog increased steel production by 3.8%

June of 2014 became one of the most successful months for the largest steel company of the Ukraine ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog in terms of the production of its main products, which exceeded the level of the business plan, the company’s deputy general director for production, Paramzhit Kalon reported.
In July, the steel production at ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog made up 556.1 thousand tons that is by 3.8% more than in the same period of the previous year. The production of finished rolled metal increased by 11.4% as compared with the same period of the previous year to 497.3 thousand tons, and production of cast iron increased to 490.3 thousand tons that is by 5.6% more than in the same period of the previous year.

Artemugol and Dzerzhinskugol interest foreign investors

The International company ArcelorMittal, which owns the Ukrainian metallurgical combine ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog is interested in the privatization of Ukrainian state-owned coal enterprises to provide its metallurgical enterprises with coking coal, the First Deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, Yuriy Zyukov reported at the briefing on June, 19th.
"We carried out works with the world metallurgical companies such as ArcelorMittal, in part of their provision with coal ... They are interested in our mines, in particular, the Central Donbass’s mines - Artemuugol and Dzerzhinskugol in terms of their privatization and attracting foreign investments,"- said Zyukov.
According to him, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry met with representatives of ArcelorMittal in Luxembourg and discussed coal purchases for ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog and other European enterprises in the Ukraine. During the meeting, the Ministry presented the technical documentation for study of coals characteristics and potential volume of their production in the Central Donbass.

DTEK in search of new markets for Ukrainian coal

The DTEK energy holding of R. Akhmetov has started direct coal supplies to Mexico. In May – June, they will dispatch 22,000 tons of black coal to ArcelorMittal Las Truchas. In 2014, the company has entered the new markets and has arranged coal supplies to the target consumers of 55,000 tons of the coal market in Brazil, 71,000 tons of fat and gas coal in Marocco and 250,000 tons of gas coal in Great Britain. In 2013, DTEK entered the open global freight market and continued successful ships freighting under the optimal market conditions in Q1 2014.

ArcelorMittal Temirtau to postpone coated roll stock plant construction

The metallurgical complex “ArcelorMittal Temirtau” postpones the terms of construction of a complex on the output of coated rolled stock. The project considered then installation of a new continuous galvanizing aggregate of 0.25 million tons of roll stock (from 0.2 mm thickness) production a year, and color coating line with a productivity rate of 0.1 million tons a year, Metal-Courier reports.
