Norilsk Nickel increased its shareholding in Norilskgazprom to 56%

Norilsk Nickel increased its shareholding in Norilskgazprom from 404.8% to 56.17%, to 4,207,203 equal stocks. In the beginning of November, Norilsk Nickel increased its shareholding in Norilskgazprom from 29.39% to 40.48%, to over 3.031 million equal stocks. Enlargement in the shareholding happened at the expense of participation in buyout of additional issue of Norilskgazprom stocks. The raised funds will be allocated to development of the projects of the gas company.

Rusal transfers Norilsk Nickel to Cyprus

To take a loan from the Western banks.
Rusal transfers the belonging to it 25% in GMK Norilsk Nickel from Russia to Cyprus. It is necessary to refinance the $4.5 bln loan issued by Sberbank at the Western banks. Sberbank doesn’t mind. But the future Western creditors might have questions concerning 7% of Norilsk Nickel’s shares from Rusal’s package which are to be transferred to a special account in the framework of the amicable agreement of GMK’s shareholders.

Norilsk Nickel has attracted a loan at 7.9% per annum

GMK Norilsk Nickel OJSC has closed the bid book for the issue of 3 series of exchange bonds for 35 bln roubles.
The coupons’ rates were 7.9% per annum.
The bonds were offered in the stock exchange market on Feb 28th.

Sergei Chemezov may enter the Norilsk Nickel’s Board of Directors

The main shareholders of Norilsk Nickel, in the persons of Rusal of Oleg Deripaska and Interros of Vladimir Potanin, have come to an agreement at the extraordinary meeting of company’s shareholders (which took place on March 11) to support Sergei Chemezov, nominated by Metalloinvest, along with their own candidates, several sources, close to the co-owners of Norilsk Nickel, told to the newspaper Kommersant. One of the interlocutors said that this decision was made at the end of the last week after the service of institutional investors (ISS) recommended Norilsk Nickel’s shareholders not to vote for him.

S. Chemezov to be elected to the Board of Norilsk Nickel

He will replace the representative of Metalloinvest.
Metalloinvest of A. Usmanov has decided to turn away from the representation in the Board of Directors of Norilsk Nickel in favor of the suggested by him independent candidate – head of “Rostekh”, S. Chemezov. Moreover, large co-owners of Norilsk Nickel (Rusal and Interros with the agreement of the future shareholder Millhouse) will also give a part of votes for Mr. Chemezov at the meeting on March 11th to support him as an independent director.

Norilsk Nickel keeps expanding its corporate fleet

Norilsk Nickel has reported that the transfer and acceptance certificate for the river service tug built by the Nizhegorodsky Teplokhod plant was signed in Bor town, the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

This is the second tug built for Norilsk Nickel at this plant. The building of the tug was completed in the framework of the company’s port fleet modernization investment program. The program presupposes building of two river and two sea tugs as well as a liquid fuel bunkering barge. Read more »
