Irkutsknedra to forecast growth of discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits in the region

The discovery of hydrocarbon deposits in the Irkutsk region may occur every year, the Chief of the Subsoil Use Department in the Irkutsk region (Irkutsknedra) Olga Gaikova reported at the press conference on Wednesday.
“65 hydrocarbon licenses are in force in the region now, deposits have been already discovered at 36 of them. In particular, last year Rosneft discovered a field at the Preobrazhensk licensed site, which was named in honor of the famous Irkutsk geologist, Vladimir Mazur.The  Irkutsk oil company discovered three deposits. The reserves of the new fields, placed on the state balance sheet, are small, but this is just the beginning,” – Gaikova concluded, the RIA Novosti reports.

OMZ Specstal will supply semi-finished items for gas turbines made by Siemens

OMZ Specstal, a member of the OMZ Group has signed a three-lateral qualification agreement with Siemens Gas Turbines Technologies LLC and Siemens AG Energy about the acknowledgement of the enterprise as a supplier of forging for the Siemens Group. The agreement was closed under the results of the audit held in 2012. Under the agreement, OMZ Specstal will make three sets of semi-finished items for gas turbines.
Siemens Gas Turbines Technologies LLC is a joint venture of Siloviye Mashiny JSC and Siemens AG for production and service of gas turbines.

Severstal to ship metal rolled products for “Gepard 3.9” frigates construction

The Cherepovets metallurgical plant, one of the largest integrated steel making plants in the world (in the division of Severstal Russia Steel), has won the tender for the metal products supply for the construction of 2 frigates “Gepard 3.9” at “Zelenodolsky plant n.a. A. Gorky” OJSC (in the “Holdign company Ak Bars” OJSC GC).
The total supplies volume will be about 1,200 tons. CherMK will ship hot-rolled plates produced at mill -2000, including the construction plates of 10ХSND mark and ship building steel of increased strength of D40S mark.

Novoyi mining and metallurgical combine will start gold production in Central Kyzylkumy

Before the end of the year, Novoyi mining and metallurgical combine will start gold production at the new open-cast pit Bessopantau in Central Kyzylkumy. It will reach its projected capacity of 15 million cubic m of ore in 2015; investment will reach $60 million.
The combine is the main gold producer and the monopoly uranium producer in Uzbekistan. Within the latest years, it made over 60 tons of gold, and total gold yield in the state was 90 tons. The combine’s production complex comprises 4 metal works in Navoyi, Zarafshan, Uchkuduk and Zarmitan.

Ministry of Natural Resources has represented the program of resource base reproduction

The Ministry of Natural Resources offers to allocate 3.057 trillion rubles before 2020 to the program of resource base reproduction and use and subsoil geological exploration. The awaited growth in reserves will be 6.01 billion tons of oil, 12.6 trillion cubic m of gas, 7.12 billion tons of coal, 106,000 tons of uranium, 4,072 tons of gold, and 1.6 billion tons of iron ore. The estimated growth in subsoil cost concerning global market prices for the major sorts of minerals (oil, gas, uranium, coal) will be over 173 trillion rubles.

Kazakhstan and Japan have signed the agreement for oil and uranium extraction and refining

The Minister of External Affairs of Kazakhstan, E. Kazykhanov and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Y. Edano  have signed several documents connected with cooperation of the state in the sphere of minerals production and oil refining. Japan is ready to offer Kazakhstan new technologies for the improving of resources production. Russia. Atomredmetzoloto is about to organize gold production at the Elkonsky uranium deposit

Atomredmetzoloto, a part of the state corporation Rosatom, has decided to organize gold production at the Elkonsky uranium and ore cluster in Yakutia. They plan to start the development of one of the largest uranium deposits in the world amidst the drop of prices on uranium by 30% after an accident at a Japan nuclear plant “Fukusima-1”. Armenia. Geological prospecting on uranium deposits search to resume on the south

Geological exploration on the search of uranium deposits, suspended in December last year, resumed several days ago near the villages of Lernadzor, Puhrut and Katnarat (Kapansk district). As a chairman of OOO “ABVAN” (leading this operation) Y.Gevorgyan said to reporters, the operation has no burden on the environment. “This is the continuation of the project, suspended last year.
