At the end of March, the action of so-called winter "gas package", under which Kiev has the right to buy gas from Russia, will expire. Existing agreements were made by Russia and the Ukraine with the mediation of the European Commission on September 25, 2015. Purchased the mandatory volume of gas, provided by the agreement, for $540 million, Kiev stopped buying gas from Russia on November 25.
