The Ukraine plans to import Russian gas after the confirmation of the price of $250/thousand cubic m

The Ukraine plans to import the Russian gas soon, right after the price of $250/thousand cubic m is confirmed, the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of the Ukraine, V. Demchishin, said.

He said that the Ukraine hadn’t made the advance payment for gas supplies from April 1st.

“The agreement with Russia has been reached. The Ukraine was granted a $100 discount”, the Minister said.

He said that the Ukraine has an opportunity not to purchase the Russian gas in Q2.

The Ukraine received 40-45 mln cubic m of gas a day by the reverse from Europe. The consumption is a bit over than 100 ml cubic m, so taking into account the reserves at the underground gas storage facilities at the volume of 7.7 bln cubic m and its own extraction, the reverse supplies from the EU are enough for the Ukraine.
