Slab prices on the world market

The manufacturers of commercial slabs in the CIS countries expect an increase of quotation in the third quarter.
After the price drop in May the deals on an international market of commercial slabs have all but stopped because of serious disagreements between sellers and purchasers. In particular, Taiwan millmen for fear of a new drop of quotation for flat mill products in the region, set counter offers at $420-440 per a ton CFR in early June. It complied with $400 per a ton FOB or little less for the suppliers from Russia and Latin America.
