USA enlarged the sanctions list of Russian oil companies

​The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has announced of introduction of new sanctions on Russian companies. Gazprom, Lukoil, Transneft, Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegas have been included in the list for the first time.

The sectoral restrictions ban the supply of goods and technologies used for the development of hydrocarbons deposits at deep-water sites and the Arctic shelf, shale layers to the Russian oil and gas companies.

On June 29th Canada imposed economic sanctions on another 3 Russian citizens and 14 legal bodies. The sanctions were imposed against the heads of the Eurasia Union of Youth, A. Dugin, P. Kanischev and A. Kovalenko. Moreover, sanctions concern the corporations working in the oil and gas sector: Gazprom,  Transneft, Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegas.
