The official representative of the corporation said that the Russian party hasn’t received offers concerning a new deposit as yet.

Gazprom has commented on the opportunity of its participation in the development of a gas deposit discovered by Eni near the coast of Egypt. According to the official representative, S. Kupriyanov, Russia admits an opportunity of joining its development and waits for an offer from Cairo.

If we are offered to participate, we will consider such an opportunity. But there are no such offers as yet, Kupriyanov said.

Experts say the consultations upon the fate of the deposit might coincide with the favorable political background. The deposit is said to be huge by its volumes. Recently the Presidents V. Putin and A. F. As-Sisi discussed the perspectives of cooperation of Russia and Egypt in the framework of the official visit of the President of Egypt.
