Yakutia to increase oil extraction by 20.4% by 2018

​The volumes of oil extraction in Yakutia in 2018 will rise by 20.4% against 2014 and will make up 10.4 mln tons, Ministry of Economy of Yakutia reported.

In 2015 oil extraction volume is set at 9.1 mln tons a year, which is by 4.5% more than in 2014.

The main perspectives of oil extraction growth in Yakutia are connected with the deposits of Surgutneftegas and Taas-Yuryakh Neftegasdobycha (Rosneft’s affiliate).

By 2018 Surgutneftegas plans to increase oil extraction by 14.5% by means of oil extraction at the South-Talakan deposit.

The extraction at this deposit will start in 2016.
