Transneft –Siberia eliminates oil spill after illegal connection to Kholmogory-Klin oil pipeline

On November 27th 2015 the illegal connection to the Kholmogory-Klin oil pipeline at the 293rd km was found out and eliminated near Surgut.
The illegal connection was made with the help of a handmade device and that resulted in an emergency situation.
Oil spill at the volume of 0.4 cubic m took place.
The total area of the pollution made up about 0.69 ha.
Now oil pumping is held in a regular mode.
The teams of Transneft- Siberia hold works on the elimination of the consequences of oil spill.
About 120 cubic m of polluted soil with snow were collected and utilized.
Biological recultivation will be held during a warm season in 2016.
A criminal case was initiated by the article “theft from an oil pipeline”.
