The EU leadership to have to admit defeat in the “game of gas” with Russia

The EU leadership will have to admit defeat in the "game of gas" with Russia and spend significant funds for the construction of new pipelines, the analyst of News - Azerbaijan, Fuad Alizadeh notes.

The Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev reported that before the end of 2016 as a part of the diversification of gas supply, it was planned to build a pipeline to Greece, which would be created on account of funds, regularly allocated to the country from the European funds. "We don’t want to receive any additional funds," - said Plevneliev.

On December 9th, 2015, the Greek Energy Minister Yiannis Maniatis, his Romanian counterpart Razvan Nicolescu and the Deputy Energy Minister of Bulgaria Anton Pavlov signed a joint statement on a "vertical corridor", connecting their countries.
