In January the Ukraine imported almost 1 bln cubic m of gas from Europe

​In January the Ukraine imported almost 1 bln cubic m of gas from Europe which is by twice less than in Jan 2015, Ukrtransgas reports.

Gas consumption in the Ukraine in January made up 5.2 bln cubic m, by 5% less than in Jan 2015.

As of Feb 2nd 2016 daily gas consumption from the EU is about 37.3 mln cubic m.

The PM A. Yatsenyuk said that the Ukraine is able to pass this winter without the Russian gas due to the accumulated reserves and import of gas from Europe. The Ukraine reused to buy Russian gas at $212.23 saying that gas from Europe is cheaper.

The head of Naftogas, A. Kobolev, said that the Ukraine might purchase gas from Russia if the winter turns out to be cold.
