Rosneft intends to gain an opportunity of gas export to Europe

We hope that now Rosneft will have the same opportunities as Novatek, Vice-President of Rosneft, M. Leontiev, said.

We can’t see any reason that we could be rejected, he said.

The Kremlin doesn’t comment on the opportunity of giving Novatek access for gas export to Europe, the decision hasn’t been made as yet.

Previously Vedomosti wrote that Novatek asked the Government to have an opportunity of gas export to Europe via Gazprom export. The request was considered.

Novatek suggests allowing its Swiss trader Novatek Gaz & Power Gmbh (NGP, by 100% belongs to Novatek) to ship gas of Arcticgas (JV of Novatek and Gazprom Neft) to European consumers. On the results of 2015 the trader contracted 3.1 bln cubic m of gas, 0.7 bln of which – from Russia. NGP could purchase the entire gas for European consumers in Russia, so the export would rise by 2.4 bln cubic m a year. The idea is that Gazprom purchased gas of Arcticgas at the price of the export netback, a source close to one of the companies says.
