New copper-nickel ore dressing method is developed in the Murmansk region

The Zapolyarny Institute of Industrial Ecology Problems of the North of the Kola Scientific centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences carries out investigation, which will help metallurgists to reduce expenses of one of the reagents at ore dressing treatment by 20% (or 0.1 mln tons) and increase an extraction of the principal component from ore by 0.5%, TASS reports.

An initiator of the investigation is the Kola mining and smelting company (part of GMK “Norilsk Nickel”). The development of a new method will let the company save tens of millions roubles a year.
