Rosneft has put into operation a highly efficient computing cluster for analysis and interpretation of seismic data

​The research institution “RN-KrasnoyarskNIPIneft” has put into operation a highly efficient computing cluster in the framework of realization of the strategy on the development of analysis and interpretation of seismic data. The new computing system consisting out of a few subsystems of treatment, storage and transfer of data allows to save computing period, increase details of computing parameters and accuracy of final results at the interpretation of seismic data.

The implementation of highly efficient equipment became necessary due to the growing volumes of seismic exploration at the company’s license sites in the Eastern Siberia. The majority of the studied sites have tectonically and lithologic screened accumulations that increase the areas of seismic screenings. Moreover, complicated seismic-geological conditions require the application of high-density and widely-azimuthal observing systems and lead to the growth of volumes of basic data.
