Total gives up Shtokman funding in favour of Yamal SPG

Total’s head Patrick Pouyanné stated that the Yamal LNG project was the priority for the company as development of the Shtokman deposit had been suspended for 2 years already. Pouyanné noted that funding for this project was to start by the middle of 2015. Earlier Novatek asked VEB to provide state guarantees for $3 billion for funding the Yamal LNG project.
