Interview with Deputy chairman of Naftogaz Ukrainy Alexander Todiychuk “We have enough space in the pipe for everybody”

Deputy chairman of Naftogaz Ukrainy Alexander Todiychuk told the Kommersant, how the Ukraine intended to turn its underground gas storages into gas hub for EU consumers.

- How much gas are accumulated in the Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities today and for how long will this volume be enought?

- Today we have about 14 billion cubic meters of gas in storages. For how long this volume will be enough will depend on how we will spend it. Today we analyze several scenarios of the consumption - as in case of normal work, as in case of termination of Russian gas deliveries. Of course, in the second case, the consumption will be more economical. Another component is the fact that many industrial enterprises in the eastern Ukraine stopped their activities, some of them are partially destroyed, and Naftogaz doesn’t know whether the reduction in the gas consumption will take place because of the industrial enterprises suspension.

- And until what time may the gas volume in storage facilities be enough?
