Gazprom is ready to sign contract on gas supply to China
In November “Gazprom” is ready to sign a contract on gas supply via the western route with CNPC, the head of the Russian gas holding A.Miller said, RIA Novosti reports.
“If we work closely together with CNPC, Gazprom will be ready to sign the contract at the meeting of the leaders in November,” Miller said before the ceremonial launch of “Sila Sibiri” pipeline construction.
“We will focus on your proposals and requests,” Russian president said, speaking about the possibility of gas supply increase to China, inclusive of western route. Gazprom can implement the western project even quicker than the eastern one,” Putin said.
“What is more, the western route has even more resources from the point of view of infrastructure,” first-ranked Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Gaoli said. “There are enough reserves there,” confirmed V.Putin.
On May 21st, “Gazprom” and CNPC signed a long-term contract on the supply of gas to China via the eastern route. The contract considers 38 billion cubic meters of Russian gas supply a year to China during 30 years at a total $400 billion. The gas will be delivered via the pipeline “Sila Sibiri”. The deposits of Eastern Siberia are going to be the resource base for gas supply.
