Germany insists upon granting of full access to OPAL to Gazprom

The Ministry of the Economy of Germany insists upon the granting to Gazprom of access to the full capacity of the OPAL pipeline in connection with the threat of possible gas transit shortage via the Ukraine, a source close to the negotiations at the European Commission level tells. Full access will be granted in case of a gas transit shortage via the Ukraine as compensation for the lost volumes and in case of delays from the seasonal schedule of filling of underground gas storages in Central and Eastern Europe by more than 20-25% by the end of September 2014.
