Opinion: why Russia agrees to admit China to Vankor Deposit
Vladimir Putin has reported in his conversation with the Chinese colleague, Zhang Gaoli that he strongly supports the entry of Chinese companies in the group of shareholders that will be engaged in the development of the Vankor field in Eastern Siberia.
Why does the country that is going to restrict the results of initial exploration work in the near future admit China to a strategically important project? Let’s recall that the Vankor project is the largest oil field in eastern Siberia and one of the largest onshore fields, explored over the past 25 years.
