Kashagan may resume commercial production before October 6, 2013

The repair operation continues at  the point of the gas leak near Bolashak,the land-based  oil and gas plant in the Aturausky region of Kazakhstan.

“Oil production at Kashagan has been suspended. All the producing facilities of the offshore and onshore complexes stand by. It is too early to speak about the date of resumption,” is said in the press-release of the operator of the project North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC).

There was discovered gas leaking 2.5 km away from the plant Bolashak in the area of the sanitary protection zone on September 24, 2013 during the scheduled inspection of the gas pipeline, which goes from island D to the plant.
