"Nord Stream-2" is not a threat to the EU, but its salvation, a European expert.
Agreement on the construction of the "Nord Stream-2" has caused a lot of criticism in the European political circles. However, according to an article posted on the Information Resource Natural Gas Europe by an energy analyst at the Brookings Institute, Tim Boersma, European politicians and experts are missing the essence of the situation.
Although some individual EU member states may not benefit from the expansion of the pipeline, the overall project is beneficial to Europe. Paradoxical as it may sound, the construction of "North Stream-2" is a good idea, if the member states continue their efforts to integrate energy markets. And the fact that they have not done so until now does not mean at least some of Russian intervention, the analyst informs.
