Government is entrusted to inspect Gazprom and Transneft

During the meeting at the Dmitry Medvedev’s office, the Ministry of Economic Development was entrusted to assess investment programs and to make a price audit of Gazprom, Transneft and Rosseti, the Head of the Ministry Alexei Ulyukaev stated in interview with the Rossiyskaya gazeta. Other large state-owned companies, particularly Rosneft, weren’t mentioned in comments of the official.

The Minister explained the necessity of the inspections by the fact that state-owned companies are often inefficient in many costs. The revision is planned to be conducted annually and its results will be published on the companies’ websites on open access. Councils of consumers under the monopolies will be also created to discuss the subject.
