APR market is not premium market for LNG sellers – Gazprom

The world LNG market has changed in the past year: buyers turn to short-term or mid-term contracts, LNG prices are falling, new large players enter the market, the executive director of Gazprom Marketing & Trading, F. Barno, said.

The market has changed, there are no more buyers who offered large premium to the prices, Mr. Barno said.

The APR market has ceased being attractive for sellers. LNG price connection to the oil prices is more attractive now than spot prices in the Asian market, he said.

The main goals of LNG sellers are flexibility in supplies and their liquidity.

We need the growth of demand for LNG, we are trying to cause it by means of a fewer demand for oil and coal, Mr. Barno said.
