China to construct a pipe to Power of Siberia

The Power of Siberia project is being realized according to the schedule. In the near future China will start the construction of its part of the pipeline near the Russian border. The gas pumping from Russia will start in 2019.

“The project is realized in conformity with the schedule. In the near future the ceremony of the start of construction in China will be held. In 4 years the Russian gas will be shipped to China by the eastern route”, deputy chairman of Gazprom, A. Medvedev, said at the meeting with investors in Hong Kong.

It was officially announced of the start of realization of Power of Siberia on September 1st 2014.

Within that time the infrastructure has been prepared: sites were cleaned, roads and piers constructed. The preliminary qualification of potential contractors has been completed.
