Pig iron production at MMK reaches its highest levels for the entire post-Soviet period.

In 2014 the blast-furnace plant of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Company has produced 10.28 million tons of pig iron, which is an absolute record for the post-Soviet history of Magnitogorsk.

The last time MMK produced more iron was 23 years ago, in 1991, but at that time 10 blast furnaces worked at the plant. With eight blast furnaces working today, this result was obtained for the first time.
