Gas extraction grew by 4% in the Ukraine in May

​From the beginning of 2016 the Ukraine extracted 8.5 bln cubic m of gas, by 4% more than in January-May 2015, the press service of Ukrtransgas reports.

In May 2016 the Ukraine extracted 1.7 bln cubic m of gas.

The Ukraine sharply reduced gas imports. In January-May 2016 it imported 3 bln cubic m, which is by 5.7 bln cubic m less than in 2015. Ukrtransgas said that gas import was held only from Europe.

In May the import of gas from Europe amounted to 95 mln cubic m. The major part of gas was traditionally shipped from Slovakia – 59.2 mln cubic m.
