Ukraine reduces gas consumption by 12.7% in January-May

In January-May 2014, Ukraine reduced gas consumption by 3.366 billion cubic meters or 12.7% to 23 billion 178.8 million cubic meters compared to the same period last year. The gas consumption reduction made up 11.3% (1.835 billion cubic meters) in May. The press-service of the Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry of Ukraine reports.

Gas imports increased by 32.9% or 3.085 billion cubic meters up to 12 billion 463.8 million cubic meters in January-May 2014 year-on-year. In May 2014, gas imports increased 4.5 times by 2 billion 890.9 million cubic meters up to 3 billion 710.7 million cubic meters against May 2013.
