LNG exports could have export duty imposed

Before discussion in the Parliament of the law project about liberalization of LNG exports, the officials are searching for more and more new ways to control it. The Ministry of Energy has claimed many times, for example, that LNG exports should not be an obstacle to the gas pipeline sales of Gazprom.

On Monday, the Governmental sub-commission for customs and tariff policy recommended to the Government to introduce export duty for LNG, a federal official tells to Vedomosti. A representative of the Ministry of Finances confirms that introduction of such duty was discussed at the session on Monday.
