Gazprom’s pipelines may lead to a recapitalization.

On the first day of autumn the ceremonial start of the beginning of the Power of Siberia pipeline construction was made, via the branch of which the gas will be supplied, including into China. The investments totaling $ 55 billion into the Irkutsk and Yakutsk gas production centers, as well as in the construction of the Power of Siberia pipeline, are required to supply this energy to the Middle Kingdom via the eastern route.

Gazprom has recently confirmed its agreement with the Chinese CNPC that the latter will provide the advance payment of $ 25 billion to the Russian company, which can be used to finance the construction of the Power of Siberia. It is important that this will not limit the capital costs of Gazprom in the next five years. Immediately after the start of the Power of Siberia, the constructive statements about Gazprom's intention to agree on gas supplies via the western corridor along the Altai pipeline, the cost of which may exceed $ 10 billion, emerged. Moreover, the state monopoly is still determined to complete the construction of the South Stream pipeline. Its cost is also high - about $ 20 billion. Another $ 15 billion will go to the expansion of the Russian GTS for the South Stream project.
