Azerbaijan and Iran have discussed cooperation in the oil and gas sector

​Azerbaijan and Iran have discussed the perspectives of cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

On September 2nd the first Vice-President of SOCAR, Kh. Yusifadze, met with the head of the Iranian company on exploration and extraction at the Caspian (KEPCO) for geological exploration, Y. Etemadi in Baku.

In the process of the meeting Kh. Yusifadze said that Azerbaijan and Iran have a long standing cooperation in the oil and gas sector, and after a long break the two countries have an opportunity to cooperate in the sphere of search and development of oil and gas deposits.

We should use this opportunity at a high level, Kh. Yusifadze said. – The cooperation in the oil and gas sector will give an impetus to the development of economies of both countries.

Y. Etemadi said that Iran shows interest in new technologies applied in the oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan.
