Atyraumunaigas to prepare to drill the first exploratory well at the Caspian block Makhambet

Atyraumunaigas, the subsidiary of Mangistaumunaigas (which, in turn, belongs to KazMunaiGas and CNPC) prepares to start the drilling of the first exploratory well at the Makhambet block, which is located on the Kazakh shelf of the Caspian Sea, the Deputy Chairman of the KazMunaiGas’ Managemen,t Kurmangazi Iskaziev stated at the press conference during the international oil and gas conference KIOGE-2013 in Almaty on Wednesday.
“Today we are going to drill a well at the Makhambet block. We have determined the drilling site at the Makhambet, the depth will be up to 5km. As soon as we find a drilling ring, we will start to drill,” – he said.
