Alrosa to reduce reserves of unsold diamonds to 11 mln carats

Alrosa will reduce the volume of not sold out diamond raw materials to 11 mln carats by the end of 2015, the acting President, I. Ryaschin, said.
“The 3rd year straight the company not only sells everything that extracts but gradually reduces its stocks. If 3 years ago we had almost 18 mln karats in stock, at the end of 2015 we plan to have 11 mln karats”, I. Ryaschin said. He said that the company in 2015 will increase the volume of diamond extraction by 6% to 38 mln karats. The sales volume in karats will make up over 40 mln tons due to the sale of stocks.
