"Gazprom" has postponed the deliveries of pipeline gas into China.

"Gazprom" has officially acknowledged that, since the contract with China has not yet been signed, the pipeline gas supplies to the country are again postponed until at least 2020. Instead the monopoly plans to concentrate on the production of liquefied gas in Vladivostok. The analysts took the news with relief, as the huge investment into the development of Eastern Siberia worsens the investment attractiveness of "Gazprom", while the prospects of the Chinese gas market after 2020 are still under question.

"Gazprom" has shifted the terms of Chayandinsk and Kovykta fields’ development until 2019 and 2021 respectively, the company stated in a presentation to investors. The first phase of a gas processing plant in Belogorsk now postponed to 2022. Thus, the first deliveries of pipeline gas to China, which had previously been planned for 2018, will take place no earlier than in 2020.
