Japan has approved the strategy of forming the international LNG stock exchange
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan has approved the strategy aimed for forming of the international LNG stock exchange in the country.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan along with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has been holding dialogs with the largest consumers and suppliers of LNG since November 2015. Taking into account the collected information, we came to the conclusion that Japan, being the largest LNG consumer in the world, is to play the leading role in the forming of the global LNG market.
We stand for the foundation of the international LNG trade market in Japan in the first part of the 2020s, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, M. Khayasi, said.
Particular attention will be paid to the development of the necessary gas transport infrastructure in the world which could help to attract new participants of the market from the developing countries.
Japan promises to reconsider the strategy yearly. Japan calls all interested parties for discussion by this issue. It was previously reported that such international LNG stock exchange might be formed in Japan by 2025.
