The timing of the Total final investment decision for the "Absheron" field is named.

The French company Total named the timing of the adoption of the final investment decision for the development of the "Absheron" gas field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. As the director of Total for development and joint ventures, Eric Meyer stated in Baku at the ongoing International Conference "Oil, gas, petrochemicals and oil refining in the Caspian Sea» - Caspian Oil & Gas 2015, the adoption of the final decision is expected in late 2017.

He added that currently the Development Program concerning the development of the "Absheron" field was under preparation. "We have implemented the primary design work. By the middle of this year a general package of proposals will be prepared, and the development of the Program itself will be presented in September. At the moment, an appropriate scheme of development for that is being prepared", - E.Meyer stated. The representative of the company also added that the first gas from the "Absheron" field was expected in 2021.
