Gazprom has put into operation underground facility Damborzhische in Czech Republic

​Gazprom has put into operation the underground gas storage facility Damborzhische in Czechia, Gazprom export reported.

The operator of the underground gas storage facility Damborzhische is a JV of Gazprom export and MND company of a billionaire from Czechia,K. Komarek,  Moravia Gas Storage a.s..

The underground gas storage facility Damborzhische is constructed on the basis of the exhausted oil deposit.

The project of construction of the underground gas storage facility Damborzhische started in 2013 when the agreement on the foundation of  Moravia Gas Storage a.s. was signed, the construction started in May 2014.

The investment into the construction of the underground gas storage facility Damborzhische was assessed at $128 bln. Gazprom and MND planned to invest equally.
