Transneft expert council is for long-term tariffs

The Transneft expert council is for long-term tariffs without any opportunity for their revision under the conjunctural reasons. In their opinion, the decisions should be agreed by the Government for not more than 3 years, or 5-7 years optimally. The council states that the optimal variant would be to maintain the current system of tariffs indexation at a level of inflation because it gives an opportunity to accomplish the new projects built in to the investment program of Transneft.

The claims of the governmental representatives about possible ‘freezing’ of the tariffs for 2014 are the sign of the intent to revise the terms of functioning of the natural monopoly objects that make larger investment to the Russian economy than the other companies.
