In 2012, Vyksunsky metal works made 1.4 million tons of pipes of different assortment

In 2012, the Vyksunsky metal works made 1.4 million tons of pipes of different assortment and 850,000 railway wheels, setting a record in the life of the plant. Pipes production declined by 19%. Large diameter pipe production declined by 36% to 656,000 tons. Railway wheels production increased by 14%.

Pipe yield was influenced by the transition of the period of realization of several large projects by domestic and foreign companies to later dates. Last year, pipe production declined in the whole sector. Wheels production increased due to an improvement in production and logistics. In 2013, the wheel rolling shop of the plant celebrates its 40th anniversary. At the stage of its launch in 1973, its annual rolling capacity was 550,000, the CEO of VMZ S. Filippov says.  

In December 2012, pipe production increased by 46% to 139,000 versus December 2011. Large diameter pipes production increased by 84% to 66,000 tons. Railway wheels production increased by 10% to 75,000. Growth in production within the period is presupposed by the terms of fulfillment of the active orders.
