State-owned oil-and-gas companies owe 50 billion roubles to the pipe producers.

At the end of 2013 the debts of public oil and gas companies to pipe manufacturers reached 50 billion rubles, notably the late payments were 15 billion rubles in November. "Vedomosti" points this out, citing the pipe and the oil companies sources. The Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev instructed the government representatives within the boards of directors of major corporations to vote for the debt repayment.

The key pipe buyers are "Gazprom" and "Transneft" who purchase them for the construction of mainland pipelines. In 2013 "Gazprom" finished building the second gas pipeline branch Bovanenkovo-Ufa. "Transneft" has built Zapolyarye - Purpe and Kuyumba -Tayshet pipelines.
