The Ukraine seeks replacement for the Russian gas

The Ukraine will keep seeking replacement for the Russian gas. It is said in the Energy Strategy of the country for a period until 2030, prepared by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of the country. An alternative is LNG supply from Egypt, Algeria and Qatar, oil pumping from Azerbaijan and the reverse supplies of gas from Europe.

They rely on the development of gas production in the Ukraine in Kiev. By 2030, the country will be able to meet 90% of demand for gas (50 bln.cubic meters a year) in the country because of their own production, according to the basic scenario of the Energy Strategy. As for the optimistic scenario the share of the Ukrainian gas in the energy balance will make up 95%, pessimistic one – 60% by that time.
