Kazakhstan needs to monthly import only 50-70 thousand tons of Russian gasoline

It is enough for Kazakhstan to import 50-70 thousand tons of Russian gasoline monthly to fully cover the needs of its domestic market after the cancellation of the respective ban in 45 days, Vice-Minister of Energy, M. Mirzagaliev, thinks.

“Taking into account the conventional ban we impose today, we think in the coming months, beginning from May, we will need to import about 50-70 thousand tons of Ai-92 gasoline a month”, Mr. Mirzagaliev said. “This is quite a small volume that can be imported without any problems. Taking into account the reserves the country has today, we think we will be able to pass the year without any problems”, he added. According to the Vice-Minister, today the reserves of Ai-92 gasoline make up 460 thousand tons with the necessity to have 200 thousand tons. “We have by almost 2.5 times more Ai-92 fuel… Speaking about diesel fuel, the reserves make up 550 thousand tons”, he said.  He reminded that the domestic oil refinery plants are at the stage of modernization which is planned to be completed in 2016.
