Belarusian enterprises reduce price of Russian gas for themselves

The gas relations between Moscow and Minsk, which were pretty quiet in the past five years, may re-enter the stage of acute conflict. Amid controversy about the cost of Russian gas for Belarus, local state-owned enterprises began to pay for it at a price below the contract one. This already happened in 2010, but then Gazprom reacted with the sharp decline in the deliveries. Now the monopoly controls the gas transportation system of Belarus and is forced to play by the local rules and act fully within the legal framework of Minsk. As a result, structures of Gazprom had to transfer the proceedings in international arbitration.
