Implementation of oil and gas projects in the Arctic to be delayed because of economic situation

Implementation of oil and gas projects for the development of the Arctic in the current economic situation will be delayed significantly, deputy chairman of Vnesheconombank, the former Deputy Minister of Economic Development Andrei Klepach thinks.

"From the economic point of view, my opinion is that this is an issue of sufficiently far future. All the plans related to real projects that we had are delayed. For example, the Shtokman projects: it was postponed to 2020, to 2025, now it is scheduled for 2030. Prirazlomnaya platform, exploratory drilling – with these oil prices and our ability they will never be paid off. In any case, in the foreseeable future," - said Klepach at one of the activities of the Tehnoprom forum.
