In January-July 2014 the drilling management of SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) reduced the amount of drilling by 12.3% - down to 81.123 thousand meters compared with the same period in 2013, SOCAR told the "Interfax-Azerbaijan" agency.
Whereby the share of the exploration drilling was 1,628 thousand meters (a 71.7% decrease), the development - 79.495 thousand meters (a 8.3% decrease).
In July 2014 the volume of works by the drilling departments was 8,993 thousand meters, which completely was the development drilling.
