14 Russian companies included in Platts Top 250

Russian oil and gas companies took some of the leading positions in the rating of top-250 global energy companies by Platts.

The following results of the companies for 2012 fiscal year were considered: assets, proceeds, profits and ROIC. 14 Russian companies were included in the list, 7 of them are among the top-50 which increased their average result from 18.1 according ot the results of 2011 to 19.4.

“There is good reason why integrated oil and gas companies, including those from Russia, shared all the top-10 positions again. Oil and gas sales form the main cash flow of all integrated oil and gas companies and high prices of raw materials assist the growth of proceeds, the higher assessment of the assets and an increase of the net profit”, Platts editor for EMEA oil sector news and one of the authors of the deep analysis of Platts Insight’s U.
