Kiev would like buy billion cubic meters of Russian gas by the end of this week, Vladimir Demchishin, the head of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, stated at a meeting with the US Ambassador to Ukraine Jeffrey Payette, according to the information contained on the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
Demchishin reminded of the need to balance the energy system of the Ukraine and mentioned the introduction of a power outage schedules. He also stated that due to the lack of resources and the onset of cold weather the energy sector is in a very difficult position.
