In 2014, plants of the Krasnodar region managed to increase the volume of oil refining by 39% as compared to 2013 to 20.9 million tons. Significant growth in the volumes was caused by launch of a new oil processing facility in Tuapse in late 2013.

In the current year, according to forecasts of the Ministry of Industry, the regional refineries should process more than 21 million tons of oil. At present, the region has five refineries. The largest of them is the Tuapse one. At present, the capacity of the plant after the reconstruction is 15 million tons of oil per year. Also, Afipsky refinery is now being upgraded, and as a result it will increase the annual processing capacity to 6 million tons.
